Dillian Whyte accuses Tyson Fury of 'illegal' push in Wembley win

Dillian Whyte insists that he should have been allowed extra recovery time after being floored by heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Fury retained his WBC heavyweight title with a sixth-round stoppage of Whyte, via a devastating uppercut.

The punch sent Whyte crashing to the canvas, but he believes that the shove he received afterward was the predominant reason for his injuries.

"The uppercut landed and I was buzzed obviously," Whyte told Sky Sports.

"I was trying to regather my senses and he pushed me and I fell over and hit my head on the canvas, which is illegal.

"This isn't wrestling, this is boxing. As usual, they let Fury do what he wants and get away with it.

"It was like, the referee ain't doing his job.

"He full on two-handed pushed me and I fell over and hit my head."

Following the fight, Fury announced his intention to hang up his gloves.

Whyte is hopeful he can convince his rival to reconsider.

He said: "I hope he doesn't retire because I want another go."
