Waterford have secured a historic All-Ireland Senior Camogie final spot with a victory over Tipperary at UPMC Nowlan Park.

In a titanic back-and-forth battle, the Deise saw off a powerful Premier outfit by a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-11 in Kilkenny.

The victory seals a place in the final for the ladies from the South East, a first since 1945, having narrowly fallen to perennial powerhouse Cork at the same stage last year.

Sean Power is one step closer to fulfilling his destiny, following success at minor and U21 level with the County.

After 20 minutes of play, the fixture appeared to be going the way of the Premier County. Denis Kelly's side held a formidable lead of 1-07 to 0-03.

But a goal from the magnificent Mairead Power after 24 minutes shifted momentum and ignited the entire Waterford side.

They added three further points and kept Tipp scoreless, with Kelly's side happy to hear the half-time whistle with a solitary point lead.

The second half was a measured encounter, with both sides trading scores. After 45 minutes of play, Waterford seized their moment and guided three successive points over the bar to take a three-point lead.

From there, Power's side never relinquished control of the game and held their lead until the final whistle.

Emotional scenes followed at Nowlan Park, and finally, Croke Park awaits this group of astonishing players.

For Tipperary, it has been a tremendous season with many positives. They will certainly be back in 2024.

For Waterford, the O'Duffy Cup is one game away, and the prospect of glory in HQ is very close to realisation.
