Dish cloth found in Irish child's McDonalds chicken wrap

An Irish family took a Saturday night trip to their local McDonalds for their supper before a horrifying discovery.

Martin Holmes from Derry handed his seven year old son his order of what should have been a chicken wrap but instead was a folded dish cloth inside the sealed packaging with not an ounce of food in sight.

Martin spoke to the Irish Mirror about his encounter and said: "You don't mind when you're short a portion of chips or the sauces are missing. But this is another level.

"My son was sitting on my right and the minute he opened it, I saw the white material inside and I thought, 'What have they wrapped this in?'

"I couldn't believe it when I saw the dish cloth. Someone in the kitchen put this in the packet, sealed it up and put it out to go to a customer."

Martins wife drove back to the restaurant immediately to speak to the manager about this horror. The manager was very apologetic and offered them food vouchers for the future. The members of staff involved were identified and sent home.

Martin added: "We were told the branch had recently undergone a health inspection and received five stars; which you would expect for a big name like McDonald's."

The father-of-two contacted Environmental Health, who are looking into the incident.
