Harry Potter-themed AirBNB opens in County Wexford

Harry Potter-themed AirBNB opens in County Wexford

It's so hard to believe the first Harry Potter film was released 20 YEARS AGO!

In 2001, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson appeared on the big screen for the first time as the iconic wizarding trio of Harry, Ron and Hermoine.

So, for you muggles out there who want to make your upcoming staycation to feel a bit more magical, well this is the place for you.

A Harry Potter-themed Airbnb has opened in the Sunny South East, located in County Wexford.

Enniscorthy's 'Spellcast Cottage' is the perfect place for any fan of J.K Rowling's Wizarding World of Harry Potter, from the rustic look of the Gryffindor common room to the secret glow in the dark mystery area. *Lumos*

The premises also includes a kitchen, a living room, a shower room and a dormitory.

To add to the Hogwarts feel, the living area even has a fireplace that is 100 years old!

Guests can enjoy Netflix and WiFi, so why not stick on a Harry Potter film while sitting in the common room.

The cottage pays homage to the books and the films, with a portrait of Gryfindor's 'Fat Lady' and even a cabinet filled with easter eggs from the movies.

It has its own dorms with the steep staircase leading to 4 built-in single beds which also contains a 'mystery for explorers'.

Disclaimer, the staircase does not randomly move like it does in the books and films, sad face.

You can also pay Harry's old room a visit, the cupboard under the stairs, which has a slightly upgraded feel.

Outside in the seating area is the entrance to Platform 9 and 3/4's, where the staying muggles can sit and relax.

Like Hogwarts, guests will have to abide by some house rules, the minimum stay is two nights and no parties are allowed (We're assuming guests could face a 50 point deduction from their house).

Guests can not invite any visitors to the grounds either, and there is also a 'quiet time' after 10pm. (This could be handy to catch up on some notes that you may have missed from daydreaming in Snape's Potions class)

Leave Hedwig, Crookshanks and Scabbers at home too as the cottage is 'not pet friendly'.

And finally, those under the age of 4 and who have not received their letter for Hogwarts, cannot stay at the cottage as it's not 'suitable'.

The cottage is also only a stone's throw away from some local attractions too.

Close by is Bunclody, the Altamont Gardens, Mount Leinster, Ferns Castle and Johnstown Castle.

Change into your robes and get those wands at the ready!
