Finally, a cause to unite us all.

A petition has begun online to bring back the much loved, still missed, McDonald's ice cream sundae.

The petition was launched last week by frustrated consumer Andrea Horan, who pointed out that McDonald's is well able to bring back old favourites.

"The Shamrock shake is back this weekend," she wrote, "proof that things can make comebacks on the menu when required."

Andrea pointed out that Ireland and the UK are the only countries where Mcdonald's consumers have been deprived of the delicious ice cream dessert.

"All across mainland Europe, America and further afield, the sundae remains on the menu. Bring back the Sundae, and stop trying to make the Mcflurry happen. Not fetch," she wrote.

The petition has almost 1,500 signatures at the time of writing and continues to grow in popularity.

"I miss them always," wrote one signatory. Another user, with the username "Donald Trump" commented: "Make Sundaes Great Again!"

The ice-cream sundaes were originally axed from Irish menus in 2018. If you would like to bring back the McDonald's sundae, (and why wouldn't you?), you can sign the petition here.
