As Ireland’s heatwave continues into its second week, we are reminded to keep sun safe and hydrated.
Pet owners and farmers have been working around the clock to make sure that their animals are well watered and kept in the shade.
Wild animals, on the other hand, have had to fight for themselves and find a variety of suitable places to cool down.
Such as these Ducks who decided the check-in at Cork’s Metropole Hotel on MacCurtain Street.
The four-star hotel tweeted a photo of the ducklings, waddling into the breakfast room this morning.
This morning at the quack of dawn, we had an interesting family who walked in for breakfast! It was quackers! #Ducks #Ducklings @TrigonHotels #PureCork pic.twitter.com/nDn8MuQbPf

After a little potter through the breakfast area, the team safely guided them back to the Lee River water and made sure they were all ok.
Not before they paid their bill of course.
