Plans to move Leaving Certificate marking online following Wexford woman's High Court action last year

It's understood a Wexford student has influenced plans to move the Leaving Cert marking online this summer.

According to the Irish Independent, the move from the traditional paper-based marking aims to make the process faster and more accurate.

Rebecca Carter won a High Court case last year after her leaving cert exam points were incorrectly added up by the State Examinations Commission.

It's being reported today that Rebecca's case has influenced the new system aimed at speeding up the length of time it takes to get the results of an appeal.
