Many people have already noticed the moon’s additional brightest across Ireland over the last few days, this is due to a lunar phenomenon known as the 'super snow moon'.
A 'super moon' is when the moon is at its closest orbit to earth and tonight it's expected to hit its peak tonight.
The reason behind its name lies in the history of Native American tribes. They deemed the February moon, the snow moon because this month historically sees the heaviest snowfall in the year.
Viewing time
The moon will be at its brightest at around 5.10pm tonight, thanks to the 'grand stretch'.

But don’t worry, it'll still appear quite bright in the sky right through to sunrise, at roughly 7.50am
